In case you missed part one,we've spent the better part of the last 6 months working on a new, semi-vintage inspired diving watch for NTH, called the DevilRay.
On social media, I said the watch designed itself. That's not really true. While the concept was simple enough, the case was actually a bit challenging for me.
I think Aaron may have had an easier time with the dial. If you asked him, he'd probably tell you the hardest part was dealing with me and my endless edits to markers, handsets and colors.
All in all, I think the effort was worth it. Here are some 2D illustrations, which will have to do while we pester Rusty to gin up some full-fledged 3D's.
And yes, these designs areFINAL, not subject to suggested revisions.
Depth meter on dial shows approximate depth as colors disappear under water:
Red - 5 meters
Orange - 20 meters
Yellow - 50 meters
Turquoise - ~200 meters
Expected retail pricing is USD $700. Early-bird pre-orders will start at USD $450. Planned pre-order start is late Summer or early Fall 2017, with delivery targeted for spring 2018.
