Are we done yet?

If you've been following along since part one, you know we started this way back on January 3rd.

Since then, we've been arguing over case design, dial design, end-links, handsets, markers, bezels, dial colors, lume colors, bracelets, the thickness of the links, what to call the watch, case back designs, clasps, date windows, and who-knows-what else.

Almost seven months and we-don't-even-know-how-many iterations later, you'd think we'd be "done", at least with the "design" phase.

Au contraire, mon frère.

Some microbrands will conduct the entire design process in full view of the public. I don't. The two main reasons are because I think that only leads to a mess of a design and a lot of hurt feelings, neither of which do I want for Christmas.

[Is the dial white, or silver? Yes.]

When we go from 2D illustrations to more detailed 3D's, and we see something that looks closer to reality, from different angles, under different lighting, with all the reflections, glare and shadows, we sometimes see little things we want to tweak.

[Black dial WILL have a sunray finish, whether you can detect it here or not.]

And if we don't, someone else always does.

"Why does that look raised? What's this over here? Why doesn't it say "Swiss"? Why are the colors that way? Is that how thick it's really going to be?"

Imagine doing the entire design, start to finish, in full view of the internet, and having to stop to respond to someone's question, complaint or suggestion every three seconds.

Kill me now.

Every so often, we'll make little tweaks, usually based on stuff we see, but occasionally (though rarely) based on feedback we get from others.

That still doesn't mean I want it, or like getting it, but people insist on giving it, so I have to read it, and if something someone points out is worth considering, I'll consider it (it's happened maybe twice in four years and ten productions - we don't miss much).

Anything we miss at this stage, we'll find in the prototypes, but my preference is to catch it before we make the prototypes. It just makes life so much easier.

So, until we get the prototypes, and add the bracelet to the 3D model, here's the latest batch of 3D renders from wonder-boi Rusty.

AGAIN - THESE DESIGNS ARE FINAL. WE ARE NOT SOLICITING SUGGESTED REVISIONS.
